Día De Los Muertos
In traditional Día de los Muertos celebrations in Mexico, friends and family come together to honor loved ones who have passed away with colorful calaveras, ofrendas, calacas, and pan de muerto. Embracing a culture that is vibrant, thriving, and ever-evolving, we invite you to participate in our Día de los Muertos festivities, making it a meaningful experience for both you and the community.
Our annual Día de los Muertos cultural festival, organized by Healthy Little Havana, stems from our Public Space focus area and the Transform 5th Street 2019 project. This event commemorates and celebrates the diverse cultures that make up the vibrant Little Havana community. At the heart of these celebrations and ofrendas is the spirit of respect, love, and honor we extend to those who have gone before us and continue to shape our lives. We encourage community members to adapt this tradition to reflect their cultural backgrounds and circumstances.
As in previous years, we aim to share this wonderful tradition of honoring our loved ones by creating a community altar. If you would like to participate in our Día de los Muertos festivities, please check our Calendar of Events or click here to register for a Workshop.
